GAME WRITING & NARRATIVE DESIGN

A short Twine with long playability about the classic story of girl meets wolf; this should help put the fear back in fairy tale. Will you survive myriad dangers in your path?

For my masterclass in narrative design, we wrote dialogue to show status, and I have taken my work to create a scene for you to have a taste of a dinner conversation between two women and their unlucky servers.

To showcase my ability to write in the voices of other characters, I wrote a short scene between three video game characters I had enjoyed and stuck them in an elevator and watched the sparks fly!

L to R: Lara Croft of Tomb Raider, the Dragonborn of Skyrim, Ciára from Assassin's Creed: Valhalla

When creating an NPC, I like to give layers to the character, especially one that gives the PC instructions at the beginning. We all have mashed the X button to get to the fun, but how do you reward the patient player who wants to know more about the story without punishing the player who just wants to play? You create a layered "cake" and use knife theory to make them poignant. Bingo!
