SHORT STORIES & MEMOIRS

Created from a prompt on www.theprose.com for a writing contest,  this is an example of my sci-fi writing and exploration of humans and AI in the modern world.

Created from a prompt on www.theprose.com for a writing contest,  this story was written to break from my usual fare and offer a different narrator with a different tone of voice to showcase my versatility and adaptability in writing for different genres and audiences.

Charlene's Nest

Created from a prompt on www.theprose.com for a writing contest,  Charlene's Nest explores the inner world of a battered woman seeking an iota of dignity in an unfair and unkind world.

When visiting the Spanish city of Cartagena in the summer of 2007, I found myself strolling around alone in the afternoon during siesta hour and had an unforgettable and chilling encounter on the streets, alone and scared.

As part of my lifelong commitment to education and self-improvement, I offer this short but funny memoir about how I learned an important bit of Spanish on a trip that I should've known with my background in Latin and French, but alas, I didn't, and I hope you enjoy my moment of revelation in Tarragona, Spain.
